The Goal

The goal of the Recyclobot Project is to encourage younger audiences to recycle waste efficiently. By building this bot, it is an easy and creative way to reuse household items that would have otherwise been thrown out. We were tasked in class to come up with our own Recyclobot design, using recyclable objects to build a robot out of trash. After that, we photographed the robot and came up with an instructional sheet on how to put it together.  

Logo & Bot Process

Originally, I had wanted to go with a raccoon-themed bot design, since raccoons are often associated with trash. However, it was difficult to get the materials on time, and a lot of the objects needed I didn’t have on hand. So, my final bot ended up being a mix between a cat and a rabbit. A crabbit, if you will. Additionally, I wanted to stick with vibrant, fun colors so children can see the joy in recycling.
